through a starseed lens, where vision becomes form.
I’m Maxine Cali, a multidisciplinary artist working across fashion, film and handcrafted art. My practice is experimental and sculptural, exploring the space where reality meets imagination, often through fantasy, science fiction, and cosmic-inspired worlds.
Trained in Fashion Design Development in London, I developed my millinery practice at Victoria Grant, where I learned and worked within her atelier as a Studio Production Manager. Alongside creating and assisting with bespoke millinery and studio production, I worked on pieces for Royal Ascot and private clients, gaining experience across both craftsmanship and the wider creative and production process.
My experience also includes collaborating with designer Valentim Quaresma in Lisbon, Portugal, on collections presented at Lisbon Fashion Week, as well as working as a Costume Maker and Props Master for film productions in Stockholm.
Drawing from traditional techniques alongside experimental processes, I move fluidly between artistic, fashion, and cinematic environments, creating work that brings together storytelling, material exploration, handcraft, and transformation.
